Out of all my photos from years gone past, this one most represents where I live. After I moved to Arizona from Texas in 1987, I eventually became fortunate to purchase several acres adjacent to BLM land about 50 miles south of Phoenix. Therefore, the remote wilderness of the Sonoran Desert is my playground. One hot summer morning on my daily hike, I came out of the Vekol Wash around the hill next to my house to see this almost perfect silhouette of an iconic saguaro overlooking Table Top Mountain directly to the south. It’s always been a favorite image of mine, and I’m happy to share it here. (Captured August 20, 2006 at about 7:45 am in northwestern Pinal County, Sonoran Desert of Arizona, USA.)
