This action shot is taken from my video entitled, “Return of the Rattlesnake” made in the summer of 2019 in the Vekol Wash, about 50 miles south of Phoenix, Arizona. It was my first multi-camera production, and I cannot remember which camera this photograph came from — the trail cam on the ground, the hybrid around my neck, or my GoPro. I just know that my shadow shows me following the snake with my good camera trying to get more controlled close-up footage - with zoom of course! More stills from this event are featured in my Reptiles and Amphibians collection. The video is all about the rescue of this gorgeous Mojave Rattlesnake (Crotalus scutulatus) from my property and then releasing it back into the wild where it belongs. I hadn’t seen a rattler on my property for quite some time and so that’s why it’s called “Return of the Rattlesnake.” I had no help -- I did this all by myself.
