Desert Globemallow (Sphaeralcea ambigua) is a bright orange wildflower that flourishes in the desert southwest of the United States after rainy winters and springs. Such was the case with these that I captured on March 29, 2019 in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona about 50 miles south of Phoenix. Here they are mingling with Notch-Leaf Scorpion Weed (Heliotope Phacelia) which I don’t think should be called a weed at all on account of its beautiful bluish-purple blooms!
