Description
This photograph is a close up of a crescent-like cloud formation visible in Y Cactus Winter Sunset Vivid. I don’t know the scientific name for it, but it very much resembles a serpentine sylph. Sylphs are thought to be members of a supernatural race of beings who inhabit the air. The shape also resembles a snake or dragon with many heads or feathers which could indicate the presence of Nagas - supernatural serpent-type beings found predominantly in water. Clouds are a form of water which readily shape-shifts into all kinds of mysterious vapors and natural phenomena. So who knows? Whatever you want to call it, it is certainly one of the most unique and beautiful formations in the sky that I’ve ever seen! Captured during the sunset on December 23, 2018, about 50 miles south of Phoenix in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona
