This Coot (Fulica americana) was looking at me as if to say, “What are you looking at?” I wanted to ask him the same thing! Coots are fascinating water fowl because they do not have webbed feet and their beaks are more like a chicken's than a duck's. This portrait was taken at Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park in southern Arizona on March 17, 2018.
