Posing perfectly on the tip top of a Creosote bush in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, this male Costa's Hummingbird (Calypte costae) takes a break from a game of chase with his buddies. This popular species of hummingbird is especially prevalent during the winter in the southwestern portion of the United States and northern Mexico. Symbols of joy, they are flashy, quite vocal, and always fun to watch!
