Description
One of the most common birds in America is the house finch (Haemorhous mexicanus). Males have red-orange plumage - females do not. This sweet little girl is calling out to someone from this auspicious perch. I got a parade of photos of her in various poses here but this is the only one catching her in the call. Seems like it would be a good candidate for a "Caption This" contest! (Taken in the in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona about 50 miles south of Phoenix.
