Description
A small wash that is a tributary of the greater Vekol Wash, runs through the front of my property in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. On its banks near a bend grows these two trees, which if you look closely, are intimately intertwined. The brown bark belongs to a mesquite tree, and the green bark is a Palo Verde, which means “green wood” in Spanish. It is Arizona’s state tree, blooming each spring with beautiful bright yellow flowers. It is thought to be rare for two different kinds of trees to intertwine like this, and if near a bend in a wash or river (above or underground), electromagnetic energies form into a powerful vortex. These places are known for their healing properties and tendencies to augment or even trigger mystical and supersensory experiences. It is true, for every time I lay down in the soft gravel beneath these beautiful, magical branches, I am blessed with an abundance of peace and harmony - no matter what I was feeling before. I only wish I could capture that part and share it with you. Hopefully some of the joy I find there will find you through viewing these gorgeous vortex trees!
