I love photographing skyscapes where I live in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. Conditions seem always ripe for the most fantastic and colorful cloudscapes in the world, especially with all the jets that fly over contributing their contrails to the mix. Contrails are believed to be the streams of water vapor jets leave behind in their wake. Conspiracy theories say that in some cases, those cons are really chems and could be harmful. Whatever they are, they make beautiful additions to the skyscapes I often see. In this photograph that was taken on May 16, 2019 about 40 miles south of Phoenix, the jet was still visible - although seemingly microscopic here, and had begun turning left producing a bend in the contrail. But the contrail had begun breaking up instead of staying solid as they usually do. I don’t know the reason for that.
