Description
This photograph is taken in the harbor of Nas, a landscape of unique beauty on the Greek island of Ikaria. It is famous for the beach which is located near the ruins of an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis.
According to the legend, this was the location the Naiads chose as their residence thousands of years ago. In Greek mythology, Naiads are female spirits or nymphs, presiding over fountains, wells, springs, streams, brooks and other bodies of fresh water. As soon as darkness falls on the caves within the rocks, one can hear the cries and whispers of their ghosts...
