The Queen butterfly is a common one in the desert southwest of the United States. I find butterflies tremendously difficult to shoot because they don’t stay still for long. I lack the lens or the stamina to keep up with them, so it tickles me to finally get a decent picture - like this one who sat just long enough on the Creosote bush for me to capture the moment!
