Description
The US President awards the Purple Heart to soldiers who have been wounded or killed for their service. Flowers serve us, the ecosystem, and the planet by sacrificing their lives - always. Yet here, even among the dying remains of the desert wildflowers (Globemallow and purple Notch-Leaf Scorpion Weed) they offer us a purple heart. I glanced down while walking through them and could not help but notice. Magical signs like this are all around if we but open our eyes and our hearts. This photo was taken on 4/13/19 in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona.
