Description
This group of three males and one female Gambel's Quail (Callipedpia gambelii) were probably older siblings — males rarely allow other males in their “space” otherwise. Anyway, they were all perched atop my tallest stone birdbath sharing a much needed drink of water with my honey bees in the blistering heat of the Sonoran Desert summer. This location is about 50 miles south of Phoenix, Arizona.
