It is perfectly natural to want to live in, by, and around beauty. But that beauty may feel otherwise about the matter. And therein - we find her beast. That’s the only way I can think to describe encroachment upon the wilderness areas by what humans call “civilization.” I want to justify it by hailing it as the remedy to “nature deficit disorder” which is a true affliction, especially prevalent among children who live in the cities - even if they play in parks. Those parks are most peculiar resembling the manicured fingers of a manikin more than something from the real wild. So I am truly conflicted because I live in one of those homes invading the splendid desert landscape you see in this photo. I moved there for my sanity, and without the all-powerful healing presence of pure nature, I would surely be dead by now. I wish it could be otherwise. I wish I had the courage, survival skill...
