As an avid civil right activist, this is one of my favorite quotes. It just so happens to be by my native home boy, LBJ - Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th president of the United States of America. I’m a native Texan, even though my current home is the Arizona Sonoran Desert. Plus, my great Aunt grew up with LBJ - went to summer Bible camp with him, on double-dates with him, and then later became a significant office holder in the state Democratic Party. So this is a timely tribute to her, him, that quote, and the state of Texas during an era plagued with civil unrest and the Covid pandemic. We would do well to remember those words.
