Description

My remote outdoor camera captured a pack of coyotes down in the wash that crosses my land. You can see one coyote further down the wash between the legs of the one right in front of it; I don’t believe this gorgeous canid had seen such a device before. A short video memorializes this comical incident on YouTube at https://youtu.be/r9UImVTpYV4. I enhanced the original frame a bit because these cameras tend to over-expose at short ranges. Infrared technology makes it look like the animal is in a spotlight when it is not. The camera only emits a dim red light, but it’s enough to provoke their curiosity it seems! This photo was captured on the evening of December 12, 2018 in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona about 40 miles south of Phoenix.
