One year a red-tailed hawk perched regularly on a sign next to the Ak-Chin reservation in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. This photo is a close up of that hawk. The Ak-Chin Reservation is about 50 miles south of Phoenix and is famous for its innovative agricultural techniques conserving water, and of course, Harrah's Casino not far from where this picture was taken.
